Hi, Miners! I am so excited for another year in 4th grade here on the mountain! I graduated from the University of North Georgia in 2023. I truly love working with kids and I love to laugh! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outside, watching basketball, and doing just about anything as long as I am with those I love!

I am Stephanie Buquoi and I am so excited to be in my eighth year, here on The Mountain. I am in my twentieth year of teaching and have taught in Florida, Texas, and am in my fourteenth year in Forsyth County. I love spending time with my husband Shelby and our two children Carter (14) and Burkleigh (11). I love all outdoor activities. Camping, hiking, soccer, and running are some of my favorites. Teaching children is a genuine passion of mine. I enjoy each and every day with my students. I am certain that this will be an awesome year at Coal Mountain!

Hello Miners!! I am ecstatic for another year on the mountain, especially spent in 4th Grade! I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Early Elementary and Special Education. I am passionate about teaching, and I am driven to meet all individual students' academic, social, and emotional needs. I have a genuine dedication and love to make learning engaging, hands on, exciting, interactive, and personable! Outside of teaching, I love to spend time in nature, hike, write, try out new restaurants, read, paint, and spend intentional time with my loved ones!

Hello! I am thrilled to be teaching on The Mountain! This will be my ninth-year teaching. I have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. I earned my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood/Special Education from the University of North Georgia. I also have my master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and my specialist degree in Curriculum and instruction from Piedmont. I have my gifted, reading, and ESOL endorsements. In my free time I love spending time with my husband, Jordan and son, Spencer. I strive to ignite the flame of learning in my students and help every student believe they can do anything they set their mind to! I absolutely love teaching, and I can’t wait to welcome an amazing group of miners into my classroom! 

Hello Coal Mountain Elementary community! My name is Sam Spelsberg, and I am excited to join the 4th grade team this year. I have 18 years of teaching experience and hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida. Teaching is my passion, and I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment for all my students.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife Stephanie and I have a 14 year old son entering Cherokee Highschool this year.  In my free time, I enjoy playing my piano or riding electric bikes with my family. 

I am thrilled to be a part of the Coal Mountain community and look forward to a fantastic year filled with growth, learning, and lots of fun!
