Mrs. Megan Bass, Instructional Reading Coach

Hi! My name is Megan Bass. I am thrilled to be joining the Sharon family!

I am a Georgia native and attended the University of West Georgia (Go Wolves!). There I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. Once I began teaching, I also received my Masters and Specialist degrees at the University of West Georgia. Additionally, I have reading and gifted endorsements and a Leadership Add-On certificate. I have been teaching for 11 years and have taught 1st grade, 4th grade, and grades K-5 with the Early Intervention Program. I am looking forward to being the instructional coach and working alongside the amazing teachers at Sharon.

When away from school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two kids, Bree and Rhett. Bree is going into kindergarten, and Rhett is two. We also have a dog, Millie and a cat, Cori. Together, we like to spend time outdoors, visit with family and friends, watch sports, and read books.

Have the best school year, Knights!

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Laura Mazul, ESOL/EIP

Are you ready for the best year yet?  Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

This will be my 10th year teaching and  my 7th year at Sharon.  I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2012 with my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education.  I believe that one should never stop learning, so I returned to KSU and received my Masters in Inclusive Education.  My favorite part of teaching it is telling my students they are capable, and watching them believe in themselves while conquering their goals.

My greatest passions are teaching and animals.  In fact, my love of animals and hippotherapy lead me to become a teacher.  My husband and I have a stunning, grey horse named Celeste.  We also have two American Staffordshire Terriers named Shakira and Captain.

I look forward to getting to know you.  This will be a great year!
