Piney Grove Middle School is proud to partner with Northside Hospital-Forsyth and Project L.I.F.E .this year. Project L.I.F.E. is a vocational training program provided by Forsyth County Schools for students with developmental disabilities ages 19-22. Students participating in the job training program must first go through an extensive referral process and work evaluation before being accepted into the program. Northside Hospital-Forsyth will be Project L.I.F.E.’s 5th business site that will provide real-world and hands-on experiences in an effort to prepare students for the transition from high school to independence and employment. Typically Project L.I.F.E. is housed within the business, however due to construction and limited space at the hospital, Piney Grove has partnered with the program to provide a classroom for the students and teachers. This will allow the class to meet first thing to prepare for the work day and then meet at the end of the day to reflect on the day’s performance and skills learned.
