itsLearning School Phone: (770) 887-7749 Each student at Cumming Elementary has the opportunity to attend two physical education, one art, and one music class every week. They also receive instruction from the school Counselors, keyboarding in the Media Center, and T.E.A.M Extreme. The 150-200 minutes of instructional time our students receive within the curricula of these unique classes not only gives them foundational knowledge of these content areas, but also an expansive and enriched outlook on life itself.
I have been a music teacher to children and adults from around the world for 37 years. My wife and I have taught in Minnesota, Saudi Arabia, Honduras, and currently here in Cumming, Georgia. Aside from teaching music, I share my talents in my church. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and playing disc golf.
I'm excited to begin my 15th year teaching art at CES!! In addition to teaching art (my favorite) I am a professional artist, own a small business with my husband and work helping those with addiction. We live in the North Georgia Mountains with our two dogs, cat and our two grand pups! I’m really looking forward to another amazing year getting creative with our students!!
This is my 14th year of teaching. I have taught Physical Education, Health, and Adventure classes. I am excited about teaching the TEAM Extreme Specials Course at Cumming Elementary. We will work on fitness, team building, cooperation, and social skills. I believe these components are essential in helping to positively educate our students.

I am so excited to be assisting Coach Swanberg in P.E this year! This is my second year at CES. I was at Mashburn Elem. for two years assisting in P.E. I have been married for 23 years to my husband, John. We have two very busy children. John (19) is a sophomore in college and is a collegiate swimmer. Lizzie (15) is a sophomore at SFHS and she is a competitive swimmer, too! Our family spends a lot of time at the pool.
