This year will be Kennedy Bennett’s first year of teaching. She is so excited to be joining our support staff team for the 2022-2023 school year. Ms. Bennett received her degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education with a reading endorsement at the University of North Georgia. She is very excited to be a part of the Chestatee family and can’t wait for an amazing first year of teaching!
Mrs. Kelley Crandall’s is a graduate of The University of West Florida with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. This will be her 22nd year teaching and has been here at Chestatee for 13 years. She is the proud mother of an freshman at East High School. Although she has taught kindergarten through eighth grade, teaching reading and phonics is her favorite. Mrs. Crandall believes that communication and building connections is key to a successful year and can’t wait to meet her new students and their families.
Mrs. Faulkner has been teaching for 27 years in Forsyth County and 15 years at Chestatee. Mrs. Faulkner received her Bachelor's degree from North Georgia and her Master's degree from Lesly University. She loves working in the classroom with English Learners. She works with 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. She loves being a part of the community and family at Chestatee.
This will be Mrs. Flack's 25th year teaching in Forsyth County, and her 7th here at Chestatee! She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and her Master's degree from Piedmont College. She has taught Spanish, Title I and EIP, and ESOL. She is very excited to be working with ESOL students in kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades this year, and can't wait to get started again!
This will be Mrs. Joan Knight’s 11th year at Chestatee. Mrs. Knight received her Bachelor’s and Masters from Brenau University and her Specialist degree in School Leadership and Instructional Support from the University of North Georgia. This is Mrs. Knight’s 20th year in teaching. I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to 12th in special education. She has had the opportunity at Chestatee to teach all grades and will be working in the Early Intervention Program this year. This is her 4th year in the EIP program and has had an incredible experience getting to work with so many wonderful teachers, parents and students. She is so excited to have the opportunity to work this year with so many amazing parents and students along with her wonderful Chestatee Family. She is so thankful to be part of the Chestatee community.
This is Mr. Reed's 10th year teaching at Chestatee. He worked in marketing and sales for almost 30 years at American Honda before getting his Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Walden University. He also has an Economics degree from UCLA. Mr. Reed is well known for his "Dad" jokes and delicious King Leo mints. His passion for making math enjoyable, understandable, and useful is his specialty. Let's make this another great year at Chestatee!
Mrs. Thomas is excited to start her 6th year at Chestatee Elementary! Mrs. Thomas has her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from UNG. She has three sons that attended elementary, middle school, and high school in our North cluster. All three sons graduated from North Forsyth High School. Mrs. Thomas has worked with preschool through fifth grade students for the past 17 years and is currently an IRR teacher. Teaching was her childhood dream and she is honored to play a role in your child's education at the "T" during the 2020-2021 school year.
Debra Warnecke will be starting her 12th year teaching at Chestatee Elementary. She has taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grades, and all of her career has been at Chestatee. She completed her Undergraduate Degree at North Georgia in Early Childhood and Special Education. She then completed her Master's Degree a year later in Reading, Language and Literacy Education through Georgia State University. She then completed her Education Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction through Piedmont College. She also has her Reading, Gifted and ESOL endorsements. She is very excited about the upcoming school year and teaching both Gifted and EIP. Ext. 722142
Mrs. Weaver is in her 10th year with Forsyth County Schools. She received her degree in Mathematics from the University of West Georgia followed by a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Weaver also holds her Leadership certificate from Piedmont College. She is thrilled to be serving Chestatee Elementary as the Instructional Coach. Ext. 722340
