I am in my seventh year teaching at Mashburn Elementary and my eighth year in Forsyth County. Prior to coming to work in Forsyth County, I taught Special Needs Pre-K at a private early intervention center in Hall County for four years. I also spent several years working in a children's psychiatric hospital while living in Florida. I have my Specialist Degree in Special Education from the University of West Georgia, Masters Degree in Special Education from Brenau University, Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Florida
This is my 16th year as a para at Mashburn and my 11th year working with Colleen Neubert! I have been married to my husband Chuck for 30 years and our daughters Laura(26), Leah(25) and Samantha(23) were all Mashburn Bluebears! In my spare time I enjoy kayaking, surf ski, hiking and geocaching with my Dad.

I have been married to my husband Ben for 26 years. We have four teenage boys named Austin (18), Brendan (18), Connor (18), and Logan (19). I have been teaching special education for 22 years, 12 years in this current position as a specialized instruction autism teacher. Five years ago, I went back to school and received my EdS in Special Education. I was Mashburn Teacher of the Year in 2010-2011 and Forsyth County Special Education Teacher of the Year in 2016. I love my job and my passion is getting children to develop their fullest potential through academics, social communication skills, and emotional regulation skills. Mrs. Chamblee is my amazing parapro and we have been together for 11 years!
I have been a Para at Mashburn for 9 years and I have also worked in the before school program for 6 years. I am currently going to school to get my degree in Special Education.

Welcome! I am Mrs. Tate. This is my second year at Mashburn, and I could not be more excited to be here! I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BS in Early Childhood Education and a Reading Endorsement. I also hold my Adapted Curriculum and Special Education General Curriculum certifications. I look forward to building lasting relationships with students, staff, and families this year!
My Name is BJ Watts. My son, Sawyer, and I just moved to Cumming from Southern Indiana. I am 36 years old. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Health Education. I have an extensive background in health/fitness, as well as the medical field. I enjoy exercising and golfing.
