    Chapter Activities and Events:

    Chapter Officer Retreat for Excellence (C.O.R.E.) Virtual Conference: September 7-9, 2024  

    The Chapter Officer Retreat for Excellence (CORE) program is designed to provide Georgia TSA local chapter officers with an opportunity to develop interpersonal and leadership skills, gain necessary knowledge and abilities to carry out the duties of their individual offices, prepare a Chapter Program of Work for the upcoming year and bond with their fellow officers, in preparation to lead their respective chapters the remainder of the year.

    Technology Day at the Georgia National Fair Grounds: October TBA

    A GATSA rally helps get students pumped up and then compete in 11 uniquely GA TSA contests! This year we are heading to Six Flags for our Tech Day.  Date in October TBA.

    Fall Leadership Conference at Jekyll Island: November 7-10, 2024  

    Our annual Fall Leadership Conference is designed to provide Georgia TSA members and advisors the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, communication, and team building skills by attending hands-on workshops, seminars and general sessions. This conference also provides for chapter members and advisors to gain knowledge and skills in relation to our competitive events Program by attending hands on workshops, seminars, and sessions during our Technical Sessions. The Statesman Award Test is included in conference registration. In addition, we have seven signature events on site, a VEX State Qualifier Tournament, a VEX IQ Tournament, a Georgia TSA Electric Vehicle Rally for two battery classes, our Sandcastle Construction Challenge, The Island Video Contest and of course FLC wouldn’t be complete without our iconic Armada Cardboard Boat Race.

    State Leadership Conference: March 12-15, 2025  

    Georgia TSA's annual State Conference program of leadership development and competitive events provides students opportunities beyond the traditional classroom/laboratory setting. Held in March at Athens Classic Center, our Competitive Events Program provides a platform for our student members to display the aptitudes, interests, and talents gained through our Engineering and Technology Pathway Courses. Chapters go for individual event trophies as well as the overall Outstanding Chapter Title. State Leadership is designed to provide Georgia TSA members and advisors the opportunity to increase their leadership, communication, and team building skills by seminars and general sessions and competing in competitive events.  This conference provides over 75 events to compete in, as well as several GA TSA only events.  Students can win trophies, finalist pins and National Conference Travel Scholarships as well as gain critical feedback to prepare their event entries for competition on the national level.

     

    The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national organization of students engaged in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Watch this video to learn more.

    Student Members
    Open to students enrolled in or who have completed technology and education courses, TSA’s membership includes more than 300,000 middle and high school students across the United States. TSA is supported by educators, parents, and business leaders who believe in the need for a technologically literate society. Members learn through exciting competitive events, leadership opportunities, and much more. A wide range of activities makes TSA a positive experience for every student.

    Chapters

    TSA chapters take the study of STEM beyond the classroom and give students the chance to pursue academic challenges among friends with similar goals and interests. Together, TSA chapter members work on competitive events, learn and apply leadership skills, and may attend conferences at the state, regional, and national levels. TSA chapters also are committed to a national service project and are among the most service-oriented groups in the community.     Competitions

    Imagine an activity so captivating that your students spend hours working on it for weeks at a time. That is what can happen when TSA members engage in TSA competitions. Only TSA members have the opportunity to compete at exciting state conferences and then at the annual National TSA Conference. Expert judging by technology and engineering educators and industry representatives inspires the best from participants. Members are rewarded not only with medals or trophies, but also with memories of the camaraderie and the challenge of participating in a National TSA Conference.

    TSA high school competitions and middle school competitions are categorized by careers in Architecture and Construction Technology, Communications Technology, Computer Science and Information Technology, Leadership, Manufacturing and Transportation Technology, STEM (General), STEM and the Arts, and Technology and Research.

    Curriculum Integration

    Education directives at the federal and state levels focus on providing avenues for initiatives such as STEM education. As a career and technical student organization (CTSO), TSA helps teachers meet the criteria for STEM education goals through exciting programs that include activities, competitions, leadership, and teamwork for students. In addition, all TSA activities are correlated to the Standards for Technological and Engineering Literacy (STEL), as set forth by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA). Teachers can use TSA activities during the school day in their classroom, and extend the learning beyond the classroom through a TSA chapter.
