Kim Sarfaty is excited about another great year in the Special Needs Pre-K classroom at Chestatee! This will be Mrs. Sarfaty's 18th year teaching Special Education and her 2nd year teaching at Chestatee. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Georgia where she also played on the softball team for 4 years. Mrs. Sarfaty has taught Special Education in middle grades as well as all elementary grades; the majority of her years teaching Special Education has been spent in the Pre-K classroom with her sweet friends. She loves being a part of the wonderful family here at Chestatee, and she looks forward to all of the special moments that she gets to share with her precious Pre-K students this year.
Mrs. Ireland has over 15 years of experience as an educator of children with special needs. Mrs. Ireland graduated from Florida State University and the University of Georgia where she obtained a degree in Media Communication and her teaching certification in Special Education. Mrs. Ireland has her Leadership Endorsement and is currently serving as the Specialized Instruction Lead Teacher. She has taught Pre-K- 6th grade students with Autism, Behavior and Significant Developmental Delays. Mrs. Ireland is looking forward to another great year at Chestatee. Ext. 722150
This will be Jen Smierciak's second year in Forsyth County teaching Special Education and her first year at Chestatee Elementary. She graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Special Education and Early Grades. Ms. Smierciak is currently attending Kennesaw University to attain her Master's degree in Special Education. She previously taught pre-school in her hometown of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. After that, she came across an amazing opportunity to teach 4th grade in Thailand for a semester. When she returned, she taught 7th grade IRR before moving to Georgia. She is extremely excited to learn and grow along with the wonderful students and staff at Chestatee Elementary!
