    Barbree Amy Barbree
    My name is Amy Barbree and this is my 20th year of teaching!  I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grades (but I secretly LOVE 2nd grade the BEST!)  I love, love, love teaching little minds and I am so excited to be a part of the Poole's Mill team for the 2024-2025 school year!  I have only ever wanted to teach and love the look of understanding on a child's face who finally gets something that was so difficult to them!  I hold my Bachelor's degree from Troy State University, my Master's degree from Brenau University, and my Specialist's Degree from Piedmont College.  I am happily married to my best friend, Steve, and we have three wonderful children (Brett-23, Chloe-19, and Cole-18).  We also have a beautiful Border Terrier named Oconee!

    Hi! My name is Bailey Foster. I have taught kindergarten for the last 4 years, but am so excited to take on the new adventure that is second grade. I graduated from the University of North Georgia with a dual-degree in Early Childhood and Special Education as well as with a Reading Endorsement. I am currently pursuing my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction at Georgia Southern University. I recently got married and love spending time with my husband and friends. I look forward to all of the learning, exploring, and fun that we will share together. Now let’s make this year AWESOME!

    Hi! My name is Alex Lowman, and I am a first-year teacher. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in teaching in Early Childhood Education from Reinhardt University. I spent the first part of my career in social work and loved working with children and families. I can’t wait to bring my passion for helping children into the classroom! I enjoy spending time with my husband, Clay, and daughters, Olivia, and Blair. I am so excited to be a Poole's Mill Pirate! It's going to be a great year!

    I am over the moon to return to Poole's Mill Elementary for my third year as a second grade teacher! I'm a Forsyth County native and was actually raised just down the road from this beautiful school. I have a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University as well as a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from West Florida University. I am married to my best friend, Everett, and we have a fur baby mini Goldendoodle named Bentley. I have a bubbly personality, and you'll always find me smiling. A priority of mine is to create a classroom environment where my students are always smiling, too. I can't wait for this school year to begin so that I can meet all of my second grade friends!

    I am a veteran teacher from Palm Beach County Florida. I moved to the North Georgia Mountains a year ago and love hiking, kayaking, and playing with my dog River and my cat Stubby. I am so excited to be a Pooles Mill Pirate.

     Martinez  Dana Martinez
    I am very excited to be teaching 2nd grade this year! I have taught 1st grade, 5th grade, ESOL, and Pre-K. I am from New Orleans and lived in Miami for a while before moving to Georgia in 2006. I have been married for almost 23 years, and we have a beautiful daughter who will be a Junior in high school this year. I love to read, watch movies, and shop. This is going to be a fun year!

    My name is Laurie Mize.  I am so excited to be a part of the Pirate Crew!  I have been teaching in Forsyth County since 2005. I have taught both kindergarten and first grade.  I absolutely love my job!  I love helping students develop a lifelong love of learning. I love fostering relationships with my students and creating a positive learning environment.  When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family: my husband, Matthew and our two children, Carter and Addison.  We also have 3 furry children, two German Shorthaired Pointers, Bexley and Scout, and a Golden Retriever, Savannah. In our free time, we love traveling, the beach, hiking, and anything Disney!

    I am so excited to begin another year at Poole’s Mill! I have taught second grade for 8 years. I have a B.S. and Reading Endorsement in Early Childhood Education, a Masters in Elementary Education, and a Specialist in Elementary Education. Working with children has always been a passion of mine, and I am so fortunate that I was able to turn my passion into a career. When I am not working, I am spending time with my husband and my two children who are ages 17 and 14. I cannot wait for another fun year on the pirate ship!

    Hello! I have been teaching for 10 years and absolutely love what I do! Early literacy is my passion! I am a Georgia Bulldog fan and graduate. I have my Master's degree in teaching and have continued my education through earning my Gifted and ESOL Endorsements. I love helping my students achieve their goals in a fun and engaging way! I enjoy going hiking, being outside, and spending quality time with my husband and 2 children. I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade!
