    PBIS at PGMS

Piney Grove Middle School is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS is an evidence-based framework that helps create an effective learning environment by making data-driven decisions that impact school culture and behavioral supports.

Some of the things we have implemented so far include:

    • Positively stated behavior expectations for the whole school (communicated through the acronym GRIT)
    • A behavior intervention plan for responding to behavior errors
    • A schoolwide student acknowledgement system to recognize and reinforce positive behaviors (GRIT Coin) using the PBIS Rewards App on Classlink.

Please continue exploring this section of our website to learn more about what PBIS looks like at Piney Grove..
