Michael Vorick, Principal

I am excited to be a Nighthawk and serve the community of New Hope as Principal!   I am originally from Indiana and graduated from Ball State University. I moved to Georgia 17 years ago. I began my career in Fulton County Schools, where I taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. I have also served as a STEM Program Specialist and an Elementary school Assistant Principal in Fulton before moving to Forsyth County to serve as Assistant Principal at Kelly Mill and Sawnee Elementary schools. My wife is a wonderful fourth-grade teacher, and we have two children that attend school with her. We enjoy spending time playing sports and exploring as much as we can as a family. I am looking forward to a great year!

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be an assistant principal here at New Hope! I have been a Forsyth County educator since 2006, and I was most recently an Assistant Administrator at Big Creek Elementary. A little about me -- I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees from North Georgia College and State University, as well as a dual degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I also have endorsements in reading and gifted and am an Educational Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction with a leadership add on certificate. I have two sons who will be attending New Hope as well! My husband is also an educator and a middle school band director. I love spending time hanging out and playing with my boys.

Stephanie Murphy - Assistant Administrator

Serving at New Hope is an opportunity I’m thrilled to embark on.

I’ve spent the last 15 years in both special education and general education roles. After working as an administrator at a charter school, I decided to return to Forsyth County Schools to help support students in my community. Most recently, I worked at Kelly Mill Elementary and the Academies of Creative Education. I love learning, and I have continued to pursue my education, earning an Educational Specialist degree with an educational leadership add-on certificate.

As a former foster parent and now a mom to my adopted foster daughter, my family and I love creating memorable experiences whenever we can. When not at work, you’ll often find me camping with my family of five. I have three elementary-aged kids of my own, and I know these foundational years are precious.

I’m eager to meet you all!
