I received my bachelor's degree from North Georgia College and my master's degree in literacy education from Lesley University. This will be my 27th year of teaching, and I've taught most of those years in 1st and 2nd grade. I absolutely LOVE working with young children!  Their enthusiasm for life always makes my heart smile. The best thing about being a teacher is helping young minds grow! That part of my job description will never get old

I am excited to begin another teaching at Matt Elementary. I taught 3rd for three years, then moved to 4th, and now am IRR. I have a BS in Accounting from the University of Alabama and returned to school to receive my teacher's certification from the University of West Georgia in 2011. I love watching kids grow and learn. Their is nothing more exciting than helping them to achieve that "aha" moment after struggling with a new concept. My husband, Ted and I have been married 24 years and have two beautiful daughters; Sarah Kate, a freshman at the Univeristy of Alabama and Rileigh, a junior at WFHS. When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family watching Alabama football, Sarah Kate dance, and Rileigh do gymnastics. We adore our furry son, Buddy.
