Deputy Tyler Witt
Hello! I’m Deputy Tyler Witt, though the students at Sharon Elementary call me Officer Tyler. I’m fortunate to be part of this wonderful school community for the second consecutive year. My career with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office began in September 2015, starting with a three-year stint in the jail before I graduated from the Mandate program in December 2018. I then transitioned to patrol in 2020, where I began my field training. I spent about six months on patrol before moving to the Judicial Court Security Section, primarily working at the Juvenile Court building with at-risk youth.
After three years in the courts, I was delighted to join the School Resource Unit (SRO). Working in the school system has been the most fulfilling and rewarding part of my career. I love engaging with the students and parents at Sharon Elementary and building meaningful relationships with the kids every day. Ensuring that our students and staff have a safe learning environment is my top priority.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my two German Shepherds, Ghost and Raven, and making memories with family and friends.
