Charlley Stalder, Principal
Mrs. Charlley Stalder is beginning her eleventh year as principal at Matt Elementary School. She is committed to ensuring that the students in the Matt community receive the best education possible. Mrs. Stalder is proud of the many wonderful things happening at Matt Elementary including the STEM lab, personalized learning, SEED garden, innovative technology usage, and most importantly the engaging and challenging instruction that takes place in each classroom. Prior to becoming principal at Matt Elementary, Mrs. Stalder was an assistant principal at Sawnee Elementary and taught Pre-K, 4th and 5th grades in Forsyth County. In addition to spending her career in Forsyth County, Mrs. Stalder is a proud alumnus of Forsyth County High School, now Forsyth Central High School. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her precious grandchildren. Mrs. Stalder attended the University of Georgia and North Georgia College. She earned a Master’s degree from Piedmont College and a degree in Educational Leadership from North Georgia College. Mrs. Stalder is proud to be a Matt Mariner.

Mrs. Barnes is thrilled to be the K-2 Assistant Principal at Matt Elementary! She has enjoyed every moment of being an educator for 29 years. Prior to coming to Matt, she was a teacher and Academic Coach at Mashburn Elementary. Prior to coming to Forsyth County, she taught at Oak Mountain Elementary School in Shelby County, Alabama and was an Academic Coach in Van Buren, Arkansas. Mrs. Barnes attended the University of Montevallo, Alabama. She earned her Ed.S. Degree in Educational Leadership from NGCSU. She and her husband Mike live in Cumming, and they enjoy spending time together, as well as with their 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Her hobbies include playing the piano and organ at church, reading, and spending time with grandkids! Mrs. Barnes loves being a member of the Matt family, and is passionate about inspiring and encouraging others to learn and grow. She looks forward to serving students in grades K-2 again this year, and believes that every student deserves to have someone who believes in them!
