Abby Buchanan - Assistant Principal

I am thrilled to be a part of Matt family and I look forward to getting to know the wonderful students, parents and community even better this year.

This is my 11th year in Forsyth county where I previously served as assistant principal at Sharon Elementary for 3 years.  Prior to that, I was Administrative Support at Midway Elementary and also served as an IRR teacher and academic coach for five years at Vickery Creek Elementary.  Prior to working in Forsyth County I worked in the private school sector, Cherokee County school system, and in New Jersey as a 4th grade teacher.

Although I grew up in Pennsylvania, I’ve spent the past 20 years in Georgia and absolutely love the warmer weather.  I have three children ages 9, 16, and 18 who keep me busy.  My free time is usually spent running around to various track meets, football games, basketball tournaments, and dance lessons.

I look forward to another amazing school year at Matt Elementary!
