I am excited to teach 4th grade this year. This is my 23rd year of teaching. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades.  I have also been an instructional technology specialist, where I taught every grade from kindergarten through 5th grade. I began my journey student teaching at Chattahoochee Elementary in 1998.  Next, I transferred to Matt Elementary where I have been for 17 years. Last year I was honored to be the virtual fourth-grade teacher for our school.

I have been married to my husband Shawn for 19 years and we have 2 children. Sara is 16 and will be a senior at West Forsyth High School. Zachary is 13 and will be a freshman at West Forsyth High School.  I also have 5 fur babies.  My German shepherd Dooley and my cats Austin, Ali, Coco, and Cami.

I graduated from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in business.  I worked for two business corporations and then decided to return to school to acquire my teaching degree.  I returned to Lee University and became certified to teach grades pre-K through 8th grade.  I also attended Lesley University where I received my master's in educational technology.

I believe in learning hands-on and through real-life examples to better prepare students for the future. Our class name is Lemley's Leaders!

I have been teaching for over 20 years, and I have been at Matt since it opened in 2001.  I received my Bachelor degree from Berry College, my Master degree from Brenau University, and my Education Specialist degree from Piedmont College.  My teaching experience ranges from high school to preschool, but elementary grades is truly where I love to be!  My favorite aspect of teaching is getting to know each student as an individual and forming  a caring relationships with each one.  I desire to model my love of learning for my students and inspire them to do the same.  In my spare time I love spending time with my family, making quilts, and reading.

I am thrilled to be at Matt Elementary again this year! This will be my 5th year teaching fourth grade and my eighth year in education. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from North Georgia College & State University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education from Liberty University. Other than teaching 4th grade, I have served as a kindergarten paraprofessional and as a specials teacher. Getting to know students and their families, and building a classroom community are some of the most important things to me as a teacher. In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Matt, son, Dawson, and our two dogs, Bonnie & Clyde. I also love using my Cricut, hand calligraphy, and crafting in general. There are so many fun and exciting things about 4th grade, and I look forward to a phenomenal year ahead!
