I taught 3rd grade for 28 years and began my 5th grade journey this past year. I have a BS in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University, a Masters in Creative Arts and Learning from Lesley University, and I also hold Reading and Mentor Endorsements. My husband and I have been married for 33 years. Our daughter and her husband Chance live in Canton, and our son Shane lives and works in Greenville, South Carolina. I enjoy being outdoors, gardening, fishing, camping, and hiking. I am looking forward to another wonderful year full of adventure, learning, and fun in 5th grade.

I'm so excited to be teaching Fifth Grade for my twelfth year at Matt Elementary! I have a Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah, a Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix and my Gifted Endorsement. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and my family moved to beautiful Forsyth County in 2003. I am the proud mom of two sons and a daughter. Chase is a Freshman at the University of Georgia, Hayley works for Georgia Pacific and Dane is a resident doctor at University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have been teaching in Forsyth County since 2004. I have taught Pre-K, 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades. I have also spent the last few years as an Instructional Coach and Instructional Technology Specialist. Because my passion is being in the classroom to share a love of learning with children in fun, engaging, and authentic ways, I am excited to go back to teaching 5th grade this year! I am always looking for innovative ways to educate the next generation!
