I am very excited to be teaching first grade at Midway Elementary again this year. I graduated from the University of Georgia where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education with a math endorsement. Then I received my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction a few years later. I have been teaching first grade for 12 years. I consider it my passion to build a strong foundation of learning for my young students, inspiring them to be lifelong learners while forming close relationships.
I enjoy spending time with my family at the greenway and exploring new hiking trails. I also love cooking and gardening. I look forward to new learning adventures with my first graders this year!
I am so excited to be teaching First Grade at Midway Elementary! This will be my first year at Midway, but my 23rd year of teaching either Kindergarten or First Grade. I am a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and I recently received my Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia as well as my Math Endorsement. My goal is for your children to leave my classroom with a love for learning and a love for school. I believe that they will thrive in an environment where they are valued and, with that in mind, I will strive to make sure that each child has a special place in our classroom.
When I’m not teaching I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and spending time with my husband, son, and daughter. I really look forward to working with you and your children this year!

I am very excited to be teaching First Grade at Midway Elementary! I am looking forward to being your child's First Grade teacher. I am a graduate of Georgia State University, graduated last year with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood from University of West Georgia, and have just completed my Math Endorsement. This is my 23rd year of teaching. I have taught Third Grade, Kindergarten, Fourth and Fifth Grade Reading and Math, and this is my tenth year in First Grade. My approach to education is based on my sincere interest in the children, seeing them grow and develop as individuals, and sharing with them my enthusiasm for learning. It is my philosophy to look for the best in students, and to do whatever is necessary to help them develop a love for lifelong learning. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my two sons, and little puppy.
