Miss Burt is a native to Forsyth County and spent most of her childhood attending the great schools in this district. She later went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!). This will be her seventh year teaching and her sixth year teaching 2nd grade- her favorite! She is so excited to learn and grow with her wonderful students this year!
Welcome to 1st grade at Midway Elementary! I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and this will be my 27th year as a teacher. My husband, Dean, and I live in the Midway Community. We have a son who will be graduating in December from GA Southern. 1st grade is a wonderful year of growth--especially in the areas of reading and writing. I look forward to a great school year!
I have lived in Alpharetta for 26 years, and I have loved being at Midway for 13 of those years! My husband is a middle school teacher and my daughter is a high school senior, both in North Fulton county. In my free time I am supporting my daughter's high school band and finding fun and exciting restaurants! I also enjoy solving crossword puzzles and singing along to Broadway musicals. I am so excited to teach your student!

I am excited to begin my 19th year teaching. I have a Masters and Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education as well as my Gifted certification. I have taught all grades Pre-K through 5th except 4th. My family and I have just moved to Forsyth and I am looking forward to starting my first year teaching here. My husband is an A.P. at Denmark HIgh School and we have two beautiful daughters who will be attending 5th grade here at Midway and 8th grade at DeSana Middle School. I also have three of the cutest "boys" puppies you will ever see. I am so excited to start and see what this year brings and the "family" I will gain here at Midway and in my classroom. We are one, we are family!
I really love working with the families at Midway Elementary. I am a graduate of Emmanuel and Piedmont Colleges. I have a wonderful wife who is also an elementary school teacher in Forsyth County. I am a 5th generation Georgian on one side of my family and Cherokee Indian on the other. My passion at school is teaching reading and my passions at home are cars and boating.
