Strategic Planning Process 2022-2027

December 20, 2020, Update:

Phase I of the 2022–2027 Strategic Planning process is now complete.
We are grateful for the engagement of more than 1,000 Forsyth County stakeholders who shared their voices through our community survey and participated in one of three Community Engagement Focus Group sessions.

The feedback and data collected during this phase will directly inform Phase II: the Planning Phase. In February, we will convene community members, students, school staff, and district personnel to collaboratively develop strategic objectives and define the “big picture” direction for our school system over the next five years.

We look forward to sharing continued updates as we move into the next phase of the 2022–2027 Strategic Plan.

What Is a Strategic Plan?

Every five years, Forsyth County Schools develops a long-range strategic plan to guide continuous improvement across the district. This process centers on gathering input from key stakeholders—including parents/guardians, students, staff, and community members, to better understand what our schools are doing well, areas for growth and improvement, external challenges that may impact our system, and opportunities we should consider moving forward.

Using this feedback, along with accreditation data and results from the previous strategic plan, a planning committee composed of community members, students, and district personnel analyzes all available data. Based on this analysis, the district’s mission, vision, and belief statements are refined as needed, and major strategic objectives are developed for the next five years.

An action team of educators then identifies the initiatives, performance measures, and action steps necessary to achieve measurable success for each strategic objective.
