Parent Information on State and District Assessments in Forsyth County Schools
The State Board of Education has requested a waiver from state assessments for the 2020-2021 school year from the United States Department of Education. Georgia Department of Education is still awaiting a ruling on this waiver. Until there is a response to the waiver request, state assessments will continue as planned.System-level and state-mandated assessments measure how well students acquire the skills and knowledge described in the state curriculum. The tests are designed to (1) ensure students are learning at their grade level and (2) provide data to teachers, schools, and the school district to support better instructional decisions.FCS follows guidelines for test security, test preparation, test administration, and test data as provided by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) and the Professional Standards Commission (PSC). For more information, access FCS Testing webpage. which houses information regarding the PSC Code of Ethics and PSC guidance for assessment (including information about consequences for ethics violations), as well as a link to the GaDOE Testing Assessment site.For questions or concerns regarding test administration or test security, please contact your child's school administration or FCS' Assessment Division at 770-887-2461.The middle school and high school testing calendars are pending due to the passing of Senate Bill 367 and its impact on Georgia Milestones End of Course testing.
