Raised in Forsyth County, Darla Light graduated from Forsyth County High School and attended the University of Georgia, where she majored in Special Education. She and her husband David, a former educator, reside in Forsyth County. Their three children, Christopher, Payton, and Carlin, are all North Forsyth HS graduates.

Mrs. Light has served as an elementary PTSO officer for three years, a middle school PTSO officer for two years and coached middle school basketball. She is a member of FCS’ 2400 Challenge Committee, is active in the North Forsyth 400 Rotary Club, and is a small business owner. Mrs. Light owns Browns Bridge Boat and Mini Storage.

“I am honored to represent the Forsyth County community on the Board of Education,” stated Mrs. Light. “I will work to be a voice for parents, teachers and students and will improve communication, expand possibilities and ensure our students receive the best education available. I am dedicated to moving all of our children forward academically and creating an inspiring culture of high expectations.”
