The purpose of the International Student Association is to provide an opportunity for international students to gather socially in a relaxed, nonacademic atmosphere and to contribute to the community by sharing their cultures and their time in helping others.Past / Planned ActivitiesSoccer games; after-school parties and dances; fundraisers; preparation meetings for community visits; visits to retirement centers for presentations and sharing; cleaning, planning and planting at different Forsyth County school facilities, dinner out, field trips – Stone Mountain, Six Flags, Chattanooga, Lake Lanier Islands, Amicalola Falls, Helen.AwardsWe are proud to announce that International Club was awarded the School Club of the Year for 2009-10 award by Forsyth County Community Connection for its outstanding community service. In addition, the club received the Volunteer Group of the Year for 2009-10 award from Keep Forsyth County Beautiful for the hours of service contributed in cleaning around Lake Lanier and major roadways around the county. The club has also been recognized by Senator Johnny Isakson for its outstanding community service efforts. We look forward to another active year in positively contributing to our community.
In May, 2009, FCHS International Club was awarded the volunteer organization of the year award by Hands on Forsyth, a community service organization, after having contributed more than 100 cumulative hours of community service.
