Juniors and Seniors at FCHS with a GPA of 3.80 or above are eligible to apply for induction into NHS. Please review the selection criteria, application checklist, and application below. The application must be shared on google drive to rmcdeermond@forsythk12.org and the checklist must be submitted in person before the deadline. If you are not sure of your eligibility, please check with Mr. McDeermond before you apply. Students that do not have the required GPA will not be considered. The application deadline is August 30, 2024 at 4:00 pm. Files must be shared and the checklist must be turned in by this date and time.

The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. The Forsyth Central Chapter has been active since 1976.
To be eligible for membership, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.80 after their Sophomore year. Students who have the necessary academic credentials must also be strong in all the non-scholastic criteria.
Application Information
Applications are due on Fri. Aug 30th, 2024 at 4:00pm. The checklist must be signed and turned in to Mr.McDeermond in Room 515 East Campus. Applications must be shared to rmcdeermond@forsythk12.org on google drive. Please pay close attention to the instructions when completing the forms. After the due date, the Faculty Council will review the applications during a 4-week period. Students will be notified over Fall break of the decision. If accepted, they will be invited to the induction ceremony and added to the NHS course on Canvas.
