Hallie Benson

Hi! My name is Hallie Benson and the 2022-23 school year will be my first year teaching. I graduated in May 2022 from Georgia College & State University with a BS in Special Education. When I am not teaching, I am cuddling my many fur babies and playing music with friends or family. I’m so excited to get to know the school community, go Wildcats!

Kaitlyn Crawford

My name is Kaitlyn Crawford and I am excited to be at Big Creek this year! I received my Bachelors in Early Childhood/ Special Education, as well as my Masters in Early Childhood Education from North Georgia. I also received my Specialist in Instructional Technology. I have been in Forsyth County since 2017, and prior to that I taught in Gwinnett County for 4 years. I love traveling, spending time with friends and family, anything Disney, and working out. I also enjoy watching the Braves and Bulldogs! I am excited for this school year with our kids!

Kacey Crosthwait

Hi! I'm Kacey Crosthwait. I have been a Special Education Teacher, serving diverse learners across a variety of classroom settings, since 2003. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in African American Studies. My passion for teaching is as strong as my love of learning. I look forward to a wonderful year at Big Creek Elementary!

Sarah Hammond

My name is Sarah Hammond and I am so excited for a great year at Big Creek! I have my degree from Western Governors University and after working in Early Childhood Education for over ten years I found my love for Special Education in 2018. My husband and I are high school sweethearts and we have two daughters. We love to travel, spend time with friends and can usually be found on the sports fields!

Geneva Thompson

Hi! I’m Geneva Thompson! I started my teaching journey in the Philippines and served students in the general education classroom and children with special needs. I joined Big Creek as a special education paraprofessional in the MOID class in 2015 and became an IRR teacher in 2021. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Special Education. I have been married  for 11 years and  I have a stepdaughter.

I enjoy gardening, travelling to new places and trying new cuisine. I love spending time  my family and friends. I am happy to be a part of the BCE family!!

Rasna Singh

Hello, my name is Rasna Singh, and I have had the honor of being associated with Big Creek since 2017. Prior to joining Big Creek, I gained ten years of valuable experience in the field of education. My journey with the special education team has been immensely fulfilling as I have had the privilege of working closely with students with diverse learning needs.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Science and a Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.

My family brings me immeasurable joy and fulfillment. I have been happily married to my wonderful partner for a remarkable 20 years, and together we have two amazing children who constantly inspire us. Our son has embarked on an exciting educational journey at Georgia Tech, while our daughter is entering the 10th grade. 

When our family is not engaged in educational endeavors, we cherish activities such as camping, hiking, and sailing, along with the companionship of our beloved German Shepherd.

As we embark on another year at Big Creek, I am filled with anticipation and enthusiasm.

Penny Futch

Hello! My name is Penny Futch. I have been an educator since 1995. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Lee University, a Master's Degree in Early Childhood from West Georgia University, an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, and I am continuing to compete my Educational Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. I have endorsements in Dyslexia, Special Education, Teacher Leader, Coaching, and Teacher Support Specialist. Previous educational experience includes a Student Support Facilitator for Special Education/MTSS, EIP, and teaching first, second and third grade. I have a passion for learning and continue to be a lifelong learner. I enjoy traveling, hiking in the mountains, and spending time with my husband and children. I am thrilled to be a part of the Big Creek Family.

Mike Dillon

Hello Everyone! I graduated from Michigan State with a degree in Child Development and Early Education. I have been teaching and coaching since the early 2000’s. I have taught in Gwinnett County, Silver City, Vickery Elementary, Midway, and Big Creek. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, IRR 4th, IRR 3rd, IRR 5th, Science Specials, and two years in Special Instruction. I have coached for West Forsyth HS and for multiple middle school and high school travel teams in the area. I have two boys, Jess Riley and Colton. I am from Michigan, so Detroit and Michigan State are my loves!

Kathleen Due

Hi! My name is Kathleen Due. I have taught for over 25 years and have degrees from The University of Montevallo, The University of Alabama, and Nova Southeastern University. I enjoy forming relationships with students who have speech and language needs. I have two adult daughters, one school-aged daughter, and four adult stepchildren. I enjoy reading and learning new things. My most recent hobby is photography! My family has lived in Forsyth County since 2013.

Rosalie Fowler

My name is Rosalie Fowler and I have been a school-based speech-language pathologist since 2011. Although I was born and raised in Atlanta, I graduated from the University of Alabama with my master's in communication disorders in 2010. My favorite thing about speech therapy is helping students take ownership of becoming better communicators. My husband and I live in Cumming with our sweet baby girl and two cute pups. I love to travel to far away places and enjoy working in my flower garden during my free time.

Stacy Reeves

My name is Stacy Reeves.  I have my master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State University. I have experience in school and private practice settings evaluating and treating a variety of communication disorders and delays including articulation, phonological processing, fluency, Autism, Mental Intellectual Disabilities, social language, and receptive and expressive language disorders. I grew up in Texas, but I have been in Georgia for over 8 years.  I have two children, a husband, and a Corgi dog that keep me busy when I am at home.
