Jan NourollahiClub Overview:The Rocketry Team is designed to compete in TARC (Team America Rocketry Challenge) each year. Participants will construct model rockets in accordance with the guidelines specified by the TARC organization. Please visit rocketcontest.org for more details on the competition and rules. The purpose of the Challenge in 2022 is to teach students aerospace engineering by having them
design and build a safe and stable model rocket that lifts a fragile payload of two raw eggs
Flown “on their sides”) to an exact altitude of 835 feet and has a flight duration of 41 to 44
seconds, at the end of which it returns this payload to earth safely and undamaged. Some of the basic rules are outlined below:- teams can consist of 3-10 members- no student may be on more than one team- rockets must not exceed 650 grams gross weight at liftoff- all rockets must be one-stage rockets- must carry 2 raw eggs (flown horizontally)of 57 to 63 grams through complete flight without compromising
integrity of the egg- parachutes are to be used for recovery (15 inch diameter)- onboard altimeter must be used to measure altitude- flight must last 41-44 seconds (launch to landing) to avoid time penalty- rocket must reach a target altitude of 835 feet- 3 qualification flights are allowed if at least one taken before- rocket motor must be class F or lower with total impulse limit of 80 N-sTHERE ARE OVER 650 TEAMS IN THE UNITED STATES.
