Hello! My name is Barbie Mason and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten at Cumming Elementary School! I have been teaching 21 years, and 20 of which have been at Cumming Elementary. I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education at Kennesaw State University and my master's degree in teaching with technology at Ashford University. I have a great passion for teaching children and helping them learn and grow.
This is my 17th year at Cumming Elementary School. I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Georgia, and I have a specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. I love teaching, and I look forward to helping my students be the best they can be!
I have 7 years of experience teaching at CES. I’ve taught 4th grade for 4 years and Dual language immersion for Kindergarten the last two years. It has been such a blessing to teach kindergarten, and I have become enamored by our DLI program. I am a former CES cougar, an OMS bull pup, and a FCHS bulldog, and I am very proud to be a part of CES once again as a teacher. I received my bachelor’s in early childhood education from Brenau University and received my master’s degree from Mercer University along with an endorsement in ESOL and GIFTED education. Aside from teaching, I love to hike the Georgia mountains and trails, spend time with my husband and son, read books, watch movies, and get together with my family for celebrations.
I am very excited to be teaching kindergarten grade this year! This will be my fifth year at Cumming Elementary and my 16th year teaching in all. My son, Oliver, will be starting kindergarten and our two-year old, Charlotte, can't wait to be a Cumming Cougar in the future. We are so thankful for Cumming Elementary and its amazing students, teachers, and families. We are proud to be part of #CougarNation.
I am excited to start my second year at Cumming Elementary as part of the Kindergarten Team. I have spent 20 years in the early childhood classroom and am both honored and excited to have the opportunity to help lay the foundation for life long learning. My husband and I have 3 daughters and 2 wild and crazy dogs. Our family enjoys spending time going to cheer competitions, volleyball matches, watching football, and traveling.
I am so excited to begin my 2nd year at CES with my new kindergarten friends and their families! I have been a teacher for 21 years: 14 years in Marietta, Georgia, 6 years in Charleston, South Carolina, and 1 year in Cumming.I I have spent most of my career as an Early Intervention Teacher with Kindergarten and first grade students. I am a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee (GO VOLS). 30 years ago I married a Georgia Bulldog (GO DAWGS)! We have 4 children- 3 in the area and our youngest at the Universtiy of Kentucky (GO WILDCATS). We also have 4 precious grandsons. I love spending time with my family and friends on our boat, at the beach, and watching SEC football.
