Math and Science are a passion of mine and I am thrilled to get to share them with my students. I obtained my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education this past July from the University of West Georgia. I live in Gainesville with my husband, two-year-old son, and two dogs. I look forward to beginning a new adventure with new friends this year!
This will be my seventh year teaching at Cumming Elementary. I have taught fifith grade each year at CES, and I love it! I teach math and science, and I am very passionate about both subjects, especially math. Before I was at CES, I taught 7th grade for two years. I went to the University of Georgia and received my Bacelor's degree in middle grades education. A few years into teaching I earned my Master's degree in early childhood education from Kennesaw State University. I am very excited for another wonderful year at Cumming Elementary! The students, staff, and community are the absolute best.
I am looking forward to a great first year at Cumming Elementary. This is my 9th year of teaching. I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Elementary Education, and I love Auburn football. I have been married to my husband, Shawn for 16 years. He is a high school football coach and teacher. We have 3 wonderful children, Luke, Lexi, and Libby Kate. I am excited about the many fun and exciting things my students and I will learn and explore together this year!
This will be my 12th year teching, and I am a Forsyth County Native and a North Forsyth graduate. I have 2 children who go to Cumming, Kylie(7) who will be in 2nd grade and Ryker (4) who will be in Pre-K. I enjoy finding ways to make learning fun, from writing songs to creating movies, projects, and more. I look forward to another amazing year!
I am so excited to be teaching fifth grade Math and Science this year! I have been in education for almost seven years after almost ten years in retail management. I love teaching outside the box and meeting my students where they are! I have a passion for learning and teaching and can't wait to share that with all of my students this year! I am married to my college sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful boys - Caleb - going into 7th grade this year, Reece - going into 5th grade this year, and Sawyer - going into Kindergarten this year! When I am not teaching or carting my boys to their next sporting event, I am coaching crossfit for children ages 4-15.
I am thrilled to begin my fourth year teaching fifth grade at Cumming Elementary! Since before starting kindergarten, I've had a love for school, especially reading, and I always knew I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I became a Georgia Bulldog and first earned my bachelor's degree in Foreign Language Education. While teaching Spanish for two years and then teaching kindergarten for ten. I also earned by certification in Early Childhood Education, an ESOL endorsement, and my master's degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. In moving back to north Georgia in 2016, I graduated all the way to fifth grade, and CES has been amazing! My husband and I are looking forward to our son, Oliver joining the Cougar Nation in PreK this year. Our one-year old Charlotte can't wait to be a Cumming Cougar in the future. Cumming Elementary is remarkable place with amazing students, teachers, and families, and I am proud to be part of it.
I am so excited to start another wonderful year in 5th grade! I absolutely love teaching 5th grade reading and social studies and cannot wait to share my passion with all of our students! I attended Georgia Southern University (Go Eagles!) for my Bachelor's degree, University of North Georgia for my Master's degree, and am currently attending Piedmont College where I will graduate in May with my Specialist degree. My husband and I are very excited that our daughter, Lexington, will be starting CES this year in PreK. I am looking forward to a great year!
