Battle of the BooksHannah Hawlk
America's Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3-5. Students read books and come together, usually in groups, to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good books in a variety of genres, and have fun while competing with peers!
Students will participate in teams of 3-4 students. We will establish teams at our first meeting. We will be holding a school competition in April as well as a Forsyth County competition in May (date/location to be determined).
A student participates by reading from the book list provided for the current year's America's Battle of the Books. Students may count “books” that they have read before. However, they cannot count books that they have only seen on a video or movie.
