    Lindsay Carlson

    Biography:

    Lindsay is a professional school counselor and wellness coordinator here at DHS. She has called Forsyth County her home for the past 20+ years and was a high school student during the South/West and South/Lambert splits. She is an alumnus of South Forsyth High School and earned both her B.S. in psychology and M.Ed. in Professional School Counseling from Georgia Southern University. Lindsay has a background in leadership development, holistic wellness, yoga and mindfulness and other social emotional learning. As a Professional School Counselor in Forsyth County she has spearheaded numerous SEL programs to include school wide curriculum, canine therapy, Movement & Mindfulness and other wellness initiatives. Ms. Burnell also serves on the Total Wellness Committee of Forsyth County.

    Corinna Spurlock

    Biography:

    Corinna Spurlock grew up in Suwanee, Georgia and received her B.S. in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia and her Masters in School Counseling from Mercer University. She helped to open Denmark High School with a counseling team of 4 in 2018. She is committed to developing programs that support the total wellness of students. Prior to her time at DHS, she worked as a Professional School Counselor and Head Swim & Dive Coach at South Forsyth High School for four years. At the county level, Corinna is a member of the Student Support Leadership Team and Counseling Core Team. She resides in Sugar Hill, GA with her husband, Matthew Spurlock, and three children, Maura (1), Rayna (4) and Mia (15). In her spare time, she loves to exercise, cook, play board games, and vacation at the beach. 

     


     

     

    Ryan Brooks

    Professional School Counselor

    Biography:

    Ryan grew up in Columbia, SC and graduated from The Citadel with a bachelor’s in Social Studies Education.  After graduating, he joined the US Coast Guard and completed 5 years of active duty service before going back to school to earn his Ed.S in Counselor Education from the University of South Carolina. Ryan has been a high school counselor since 2014 and has served students in SC, CO, and now GA!  He is passionate about connecting students with their college and career passions, as well as navigating the different career pathways for those students who aren’t sure what to do after high school.  In his spare time, Ryan loves spending time with his wife, 3 kids (ages 5 & under), playing basketball, reading, and watching Gamecock Football and Duke Basketball!

    Donovan Hollis

    Professional School Counselor

    Biography: 

    Donovan grew up in Valley, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Secondary Social Science Education and a Master's of Education in School Counseling, also from Auburn University. His professional background includes school counselor and soccer coach at West Forsyth High School, academic advisor for the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia, and financial aid advisor at Auburn University. He is passionate about supporting high school students and guiding them through academic, social/emotional, and career development. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda, son Marshall (5), and two dogs (Chandler and Baylee).

     


     

     

    Carolyn Moore

    Biography:

    Carolyn Moore is from Illinois and grew up in Alpharetta, Georgia.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree from University of Georgia, her Master’s from Georgia State University and her Specialist from Valdosta State University.  This is Mrs. Moore’s seventh year as a school counselor!  Mrs. Moore lives with her husband, Nick, and her son, Oliver (3) and her daughter Rosie (1).  She enjoys running, hiking, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

     


     


    Brittany Farnum

    Professional School Counselor

    Biography:

    Brittany Farnum is from Long Island, NY. She received her B.A. in English from James Madison University in Virginia, and her M.Ed in School Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. Mrs. Farnum has been a school counselor at Denmark High School since it opened in 2018, and is excited for year five! In addition to counseling, Mrs. Farnum is an Assistant Coach for the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team. In her spare time, Mrs. Farnum enjoys working out, cooking and baking, and spending time with her husband Pearce and dog Henry
