    Meet the Teacher

My name is Katie Kingry, and I have been living my dream for the last eleven years. It was such a blessing to become a Silver CIty Comet last year, and I am eager to see what this year holds! After graduating from North Forsyth High School, I enrolled in the University of North Georgia where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a reading endorsement. I later earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, a gifted endorsement, and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have worked with gifted students for the past nine years. I enjoy sharing my love of learning with students and engaging them in authentic, challenging, and creative learning experiences.

    Gifted Education Program

The Gifted Education Program in Forsyth County recognizes the diverse needs of children. Learning experiences in the gifted classroom at Silver City Elementary School will focus on developing cognitive learning, research and reference skills, as well as social emotional skills at each grade level. This differentiated curriculum considers the various learning styles of all students while placing a focus on higher order thinking skills, curiosity, creativity, risk-taking, and interpersonal relationships. Each interdisciplinary unit will help our gifted students learn how to confidently and successfully face a challenge both independently and collaboratively.
