Rising 7th and 11th Immunization Requirements

Rising 7th Grade Immunization Requirements

 

  • One dose of Meningococcal conjugate (MCV4) and one dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) is a GA state requirement for rising 7th grade students.
  • If your child has not already received these two immunizations, then it is strongly encouraged for you to make your child’s appointment as soon as possible. Do not wait until the last few weeks of summer as appointments at local physician offices as well as at the Forsyth County Health Department will be limited.
  • Forsyth County Schools is partnering with Georgia Highlands Medical Services to offer a Back to School Health Event on Wednesday, July 20th and will be offering the MCV4 and Tdap immunizations. Please see the event link below for additional details.

Rising 11th Grade Meningitis Requirement for 2022-23 School Year

 

  • Meningitis booster dose (MCV4) is a GA state requirement for rising 11th-grade students who are 16 years of age. Please see the Department of Public Health and Forsyth County School parent/guardian letters below for additional information.
  • If your child will be 16 years of age prior to the start of the 2022-23 school year, we strongly encourage you to make your child’s appointment as soon as possible following their 16th birthday. Do not wait until the last few weeks of summer as appointments at local physician offices as well as at the Forsyth County Health Department will be limited.
