FCS Names New Associate Superintendent of Teaching & Learning

NEW FORSYTH COUNTY SCHOOLS ASSOCIATE SUPERINTENDENT ANNOUNCED

The Forsyth County Board of Education has approved Dr. Amy Bartlett, the current Forsyth County Schools Director of Teaching and Learning, as the new Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.


Dr. Bartlett began her career in 1994, teaching in the LeRoy Central School District. She then taught in Atlanta Public Schools from 1996 to 2002. From 2002 to 2007, she served as Assistant Principal at Big Creek Elementary and Shiloh Point Elementary. She was named Principal at Sharon Elementary, where she served until 2021. Under her leadership, Sharon Elementary was awarded the US Department of Education Blue Ribbon School designation in 2016 and the Green Ribbon School recognition in 2019. In her current role, Dr. Bartlett has successfully led the implementation of state-mandated literacy legislation and developed strategic initiatives to enhance reading proficiency and close achievement gaps.


Dr. Bartlett holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Georgia, an Education Specialist degree with a Leadership Endorsement from Georgia State University, a Master of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Oswego.
