Course Recommendation Information
Dear VCMS Families:
VCMS teachers and administration are busy preparing for the 2023-2024 school year. In doing so, we have taken great care to examine data and have in-depth discussions about how to best serve your child in their academic classes. The data examined includes GA Milestones scores, Lexile levels, course grades, classroom performance, and your child's work habits. Analysis of this data has led to your child's 2023-2024 course placements. The window to view this information will be open from May 8th - May 12th.
To view these course placements, simply login to Campus (Parent) Portal as you would normally do to view grades. If you do not remember your login information, have your child login with their username and password. Once you are logged in, select More from the menu on the left-hand side. Then select Course Registration (see screenshot below) and then Vickery Creek Middle 23-24. You will be able to see all FIVE core classes (no connections courses) listed under the title Required Courses. Course numbers and names will be displayed. Rising 6th and 7th grade students should show course registration for ELA, Math, Science, SS and Reading. Rising 8th grade students should show course registration for ELA, Math, Science, SS and World Language OR Reading. Any 5-digit course number with "ms" at the end means the course is offered for high school credit.
Attached below are further directions for viewing course recommendations for each grade level:
If your child has signed up to be in Band or Chorus you will not see these courses, or any other connections courses, on their schedule until open house.
Please review and discuss these course placements with your child. Remember, the window to view this information will be open from May 8th - May 12th.
Students will receive their complete course schedules during Open House at the end of July. If you have a concern about your child’s course placements, please contact your grade level administrator.
