South Forsyth Tops Biliteracy Charts!

South Forsyth HS tops the charts for excellence once again!!!

For the second year in a row, and since the implementation of the Georgia Seal of Biliteracy in 2016, South Forsyth High School has topped Forsyth County Schools with the number of confirmed recipients! This year, 32 graduating Seniors will be receiving  the GA Seal of Biliteracy for their diploma at graduation. Additionally, 40 Seniors currently taking Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses and the associated exams have an opportunity to be awarded the Seal in July upon confirmation of test scores.

The Seal of Biliteracy is awarded by the Georgia Department of Education to those students who have attained proficiency in both English and at least one other world language by the time they graduate high school.

Requirements for the Seal include:

* Completion of all English language arts requirements for graduation with an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above in those classes; and

*  Proficiency in one or more languages other than English, demonstrated by passing a foreign language advanced placement examination with a score of 4 or higher or an international baccalaureate examination with a score of 5 or higher.
