Changes to AP Testing for Spring 2020

AP Students and Parents,

Due to the unprecedented challenges posed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, College Board has made changes to Advanced Placement (AP) testing for the spring of 2020.

  • AP testing has NOT been cancelled; however, traditional face-to-face exam administration at schools WILL NOT TAKE PLACE.
  • AP exams will be taken at-home (virtual/on-line exams).
  • For each AP subject, there will be 2 different testing dates, one in early May and one in late May. Students will have the option to select their testing date. Each exam will now last 45 minutes and will contain free-response only.
  • Students wishing to cancel their AP testing may do so WITHOUT any cancelation fees assessed. Refunds for cancelled AP tests will be given in June.
  • In conjunction with the Forsyth County Schools AP teachers, College Board will be providing free remote learning resources. Forsyth County Schools AP teachers will be in contact with students about changes to the tests, test prep etc.
  • The full exam schedule, specific free-response question types that will be on each AP Exam, and additional testing details will be available by April 3rd.
  • Students will receive College Board updates via email.  Students should check the College Board platform to be sure their contact information is up-to-date.
