Bill Robertson selected 2020 Teacher of the Year

During a brief faculty meeting on Friday afternoon, West Forsyth HS Principal Karl Mercer announced the WFHS 2020 Teacher of the Year – Mr. Bill Robertson! Mr. Robertson has been on staff at West since the school opened 13 years ago. During his 25 years in education, he has helped students master a variety of social studies courses. He has taught middle school special ed., American Government, World History, US History, AP and on level Economics. Mr. Robertson holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics/History as well as master’s and specialist degrees in Education. “When I was growing up, I always felt that teaching US History would be the ultimate job. I believe that I was meant to be a teacher. I didn't start teaching right out of college but felt that I was led to this profession and was given a lot of encouragement from my wife (who is also on staff at West!). I really enjoy teaching my subject, as well as interacting with the students in my class. I like to show students that they are capable of much more than they believe that they are.” Robertson and his wife Greta have three children, all graduates of Forsyth County Schools. Again, many congratulations! 👏🙌👏🙌 #IamWestForsythWeareFamily
